6mge engines are getting harder and harder to come by, but there are options! Treat your Supra to a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) 7mge engine. These 7mge engines have been compression tested, cleaned, and come with a one year warranty. This engine is a direct replacement for your Supra / Cressida's US Spec 7mge engine. It can be a good engine for your Mk2 Supra as well, provided you have the know-how to wire it up. You'll have to source a 7mge wiring harness for a swap, on top of figuring out all of the other tidbits to go along with this swap. Not interested in wiring? Use this 3.0 bottom end with your 5mge cylinder head/pistons, and create your own hybrid 3.0 engine.

Note: 1982-1983 Supras will also have to use their complete oil pump/pickup tube assembly in the newer 7mge. Rotate the engine by hand after you install the pump/pickup assembly, as one of the rod bolts may contact the oil pump tube union. All Mk2 Supras will have to use your 5mge oil pan. 1984-1985 Supras must swap over the oil pump pickup tube/strainer assembly.
